Dear host family,

Hello, I hope this letter is well received by you. I am writing to you to express my sincere interest in becoming an AuPair in your family.

My name is Rama, I am 25 years old and I come from Indonesia. I live in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, with my father Hendra, who works as a manager in a technology company, and my mother Nining, who is now a retired teacher. I have a younger brother called Adli. We also have a beautiful cat called Kiwi and she is a real member of the family.

First of all, I would like to tell you something about myself and my personal life.

I would describe myself as a reliable, friendly, creative and open-minded man who is very interested in getting to know diverse cultures and new people. In my free time I like to do more activities than hobbies, such as playing guitar, jogging, cycling, going to a museum or an art gallery, photography and traveling. I graduated from university in 2021 and worked in my uncle's company in another city, Cirebon, and I helped run the company for six months.

Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of caring for children of different ages. In my recent experience, I had the opportunity to take care of my cousins while working with my uncle in Cirebon. Once a week I take care of a 12 year old girl named Nabila, a 9 year old girl named Aira and a 6 year old girl named Athena. Most weekends I went out in nature with them or we cooked their favorite dishes together or we shopped together and then I read books to them. Sometimes I would pick them up from school and I would introduce them to music by showing them how to play the keyboard and guitar.

During my studies I gained several volunteer experiences where I had to teach students. One of them is my volunteer experience in a financial club at my university, where me and my team had to visit different high schools to teach financial literacy to the youth. We formed a group and had a fun discussion on this topic. At the end of the day there is a game and a quiz with prizes.

One of my greatest passions is music. I have been playing music since I was a child and over the years I have been fortunate to achieve various successes in music. First, in 2017, I won a third place in an acoustic band competition in my city, to the main music band of my university, where me and my band had to perform in front of five thousand people. I think music plays a big role in my life and helps me boost my confidence.

Apart from that, my interest in learning languages has grown since I was a student. I have been learning German in Jakarta for nine months in 2023 and have successfully achieved the B1 certificate with a good grade. I have to admit that it wasn't easy at the beginning, but fortunately I gained joy and valuable lessons during the process. I also speak fluent Indonesian, English (C1 level with TOEFL Score of 590) and French (A2 of DELF certificate) too. I hope that I can make a positive contribution to your household during my stay. I'm happy to help with everyday tasks, share stories from my own culture, and even cook some dishes from my home country to provide a taste of my own culture.
