Hi there!

My name is Mariam, I’m 24 years old and I live in Sweden, but my roots are in Afghanistan. I would describe myself as a kind, caring and grounded person who has always loved being around children, ever since I was a little girl. I’m full of energy and creativity, and kids often connect with me easily because I naturally match their enthusiasm. At the same time, I’m responsible, patient, and know how to create a safe and calm environment when needed.

I try to see the bright side of life and believe that since we only live once, we should make the most of every opportunity.

In high school, I studied technical science, but after graduating I chose to follow my passion for acting. I studied theatre for three years, which helped me grow as a person, gain confidence, and develop strong communication and emotional skills — all of which I find useful when working with children.

Since 2021, I’ve also been working as a security guard, first alongside my theatre studies, and now full-time. That job has taught me a lot about taking responsibility, staying calm in different situations, and being attentive and aware of others, qualities that I believe are also very important when caring for children.

After my studies, I traveled for four month, three unforgettable months in India and one month in Sri Lanka. During that time, I volunteered for a month at a local school, and I absolutely loved it. I still keep in touch with some of the children I met there, that experience really confirmed how much I enjoy supporting and connecting with young people.

I want to become an au pair because I truly love spending time with children and want to be part of their daily lives in a meaningful way. I’m also passionate about learning about new cultures, meeting people from different backgrounds, and discovering new ways of living. I find it incredibly inspiring to hear different perspectives on life, and I’m always excited to learn new languages and traditions.

I believe a family should host me because I’m a trustworthy, caring, and warm person who takes her responsibilities seriously. I bring a lot of energy, creativity, and positivity, and I’m confident that I can be a supportive and reliable part of your family.
