Carta a la familia
Hi there!
My name is Mariam, I’m 24 years old, and I’m from Sweden, with roots in Afghanistan. I’d describe myself as a kind, caring, and grounded person, and I’ve always had a natural love for being around children. Since I was a little girl, I’ve felt this deep connection to kids. I carry a lot of motherly love inside me, it's something I’ve always wanted to share with children, especially as I’m still too young to have my own. I’m full of energy, creativity, and joy, and kids tend to connect with me easily because I can match their enthusiasm. But I’m also calm, responsible, and know how to create a safe, comforting space when needed.
I believe in the power of positivity, and that life is short, so we should make the most of every moment and opportunity. I try to bring that energy to everything I do.
In high school, I studied technical science, but after graduating I chose to follow my passion for acting. I studied theatre for three years, which helped me grow as a person, gain confidence, and develop strong communication and emotional skills, all of which I find useful when working with children.
Since 2021, I’ve also been working as a security guard, first alongside my theatre studies, and now full-time. That job has taught me a lot about taking responsibility, staying calm in different situations, and being attentive and aware of others, qualities that I believe are also very important when caring for children.
After my studies, I traveled for four month, three unforgettable months in India and one month in Sri Lanka. During that time, I volunteered for a month at a local school, and I absolutely loved it. I still keep in touch with some of the children I met there, that experience really confirmed how much I enjoy supporting and connecting with young people.
I want to become an au pair because I have a genuine love for children and want to be an active, positive presence in their lives. I also love learning about new cultures, meeting people from different backgrounds, and discovering different ways of life. I believe that hearing different perspectives and learning new traditions makes life richer, and I’m excited to share my own culture and experiences with your family.
What really sets me apart is how deeply I care about kids and their rights. I’m genuinely passionate about standing up for children, making sure they feel seen, heard, and respected. I truly believe every child deserves a space where they can be themselves, grow with confidence, and feel supported every step of the way.
I’d love for you to consider me as part of your family. I’m someone you can count on, warm, trustworthy, and responsible. I bring a lot of love, positive energy, and creativity into everything I do, and I’m confident I can be a kind and reliable presence in your daily life.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my letter. I’m really excited about the chance to join your family and be there to support you in this next chapter. Hope to hear from you soon!
Warmly
Mariam
