Hi there!
I'm Ellie, a 17-year-old (turning 18 this October) from Auckland, New Zealand, but looking for a host family for 2024. I am looking for a host family with 2-3 children who value family. I spend most of my time outdoors and am excited to explore a new country.
I am a passionate person who prioritises family, friends and quality relationships. I love being outside and exploring the world around us. This ties into my fun-loving, positive and excited energy who also loves and values quiet time and peace.
I am currently living in Auckland, New Zealand with my mum, dad and younger brother. I also have 2 beautiful cats at home with us.
I have had significant experience working with kids. I have babysitting experience from ages 7-13 years old including making dinner, cleaning up, and putting kids to sleep.
Last year I started coaching netball to a team of 10-11-year-olds. I created a fun, interactive and nurturing learning environment by planning activities that entertained and developed netball skills for up to 10 children. Taught basic netball skills whilst ensuring all abilities of netball were catered to, to create an enriching environment for each of them.
I also spend my time teaching dance at my dance studio. I teach and choreograph routines to several classes of students ranging from ages 4-15. I plan engaging lessons teaching hip-hop and developing their skills through different routines and games. Communicated efficiently with the kids and parents fair expectations to create a fun and safe environment
I am in my final year of high school, set to finish in November 2023. I take various subjects including Statistics, English, Biology, Drama and Photography. I also have a variety of work experience, working at Krispy Kreme and Kodak as well as teaching dance.
In my spare time, I spend most of my evenings dancing. I dance several styles and spend up to 15 of dance per week. This also ties into my passion for singing, music, drama and the performing arts. Over the past 5 years, I have been a part of many shows through school and community theatres.
Aside from this I also have a huge passion for sports. Mostly I play netball and basketball, and I love spending my time training for games and staying active.
