Carta a la familia

Hello families! My name is Foster and I am an 17 year old male (turning 18 in August) born and raised in Denver, Colorado.

I’m excited to jump into the world of being an Au Pair! I seriously enjoy working with kids, their energy and imagination will always bring a smile to my face. Plus, I get to dive into new cultures, which is exciting and rewarding. Being an Au Pair is like getting a backstage pass to family life in another country; I get to help out with the kids while soaking up all the local customs (and hopefully some delicious food along the way!). I can’t wait to be a role model and a friend to the kids I care for. I’m ready to make a positive difference in the lives of children (and hopefully collect a few funny stories along the way)!

Families should consider having me around because I’m not just committed, but genuinely passionate about creating a enjoyable environment for children. I get that letting someone into your home is a big deal so I will always remember to respect your family’s unique style and traditions. Whether it’s tackling homework or being creative in organizing fun activities, I’ll treat your home like it’s my own (minus the midnight snack raids). At the end of the day, I’m someone who’s dependable, caring, and genuinely excited to share my skills, real heart, and energy into a family’s everyday life.

I believe I’m a great fit for this position because I have a strong background of childcare experience, language skills, and a positive attitude. I took Spanish for several years and earned my Seal of Biliteracy, which means I can communicate in both excellent English and proficient Spanish. I also took two college level English classes, which strengthened my communication skills even further, especially when it comes to helping with homework or tutoring younger kids. Outside of my family, I’ve babysat for my neighbors, including teaching English to their native Spanish speaking daughter. I have experience taking care of my younger sister, who is two years younger than me. I helped watch her and keep her safe and entertained while our parents weren't around. Although she’s not a baby, helping to look after her has taught me a lot about patience, leadership, and being a supportive role model. On top of that, my mom is a preschool teacher, and I’ve learned a lot from watching her teach and care for children.

Let’s make some great memories together, and I promise, every day will be a little easier — and a lot more fun.

Experiencia con niños

While I haven’t been an Au Pair before, I've got lots of experience with kids. I’ve babysat for folks next door, taught English to a native Spanish-speaking 8 year old girl, and looked after my little sister for many years. All this has made me good at building trust with kids and helping them as a role model and friend. I've picked up how important it is to be patient, creative, and clear when talking to kids—skills I know will help me a lot as an Au Pair.

I'd really like to be an Au Pair in another country. I'm all about learning new ways of life and looking at the world differently. Staying with a host family lets me really get to know how people live there, not just see the place. I'm pumped to make deep connections, get better at speaking their language, and push myself out of what's comfortable while doing something worthwhile—helping families and being a good example for kids. I believe this experience will not only help me grow as a person, but also create lifelong memories and friendships across the world.
