Dear Host Family,
My name is Scarlett, and I am an 18-year-old currently living in Cornwall, England. I am currently looking for a host family to stay with and would love to be your next au pair. I grew up in Germany near Bielefeld and attended local schools, meaning I learnt German at a young age. I moved back to England a few years ago, however, I have been able to keep my German up to date through speaking with family and friends. I grew up in a loud, busy house with a tight-nit family which is something I value deeply. I would therefore like to describe myself as understanding and empathetic with the people around me, meaning, I work well with people of all ages. I am also a very patient and caring person so I believe I would be a great fit for these roles.
My highest level of qualification is the International Baccalaureate, and this is something I am very proud of. It has made me a more well-rounded person and has changed the way I think. It has led me to start many new activities and hobbies as well as encouraging me to volunteer for my community, which is something I am very passionate about. Currently I am looking to take a year out to experience new cultures and travel, however, after this I am going to study Global Development at university to pursue my desire to help others and find solutions to issues within our world.
I would love to become an Au Pair because I am passionate about travelling and helping young children, as well as wanting to be able to speak German in a native environment again as well as experiencing new cultures. I am good at communication and childcare as I often take care of the neighboring families' kids.
I love the outdoors and doing more practical activities, especially with kids, meaning you wouldn't have to worry about them being inside all day as this is something I don't enjoy. I love sporting activities such as swimming, badminton etc.so I would make sure that we can be outside and playing as much as possible. I am also open to learning new things and am open to many different daily tasks you may require from me.
