My name is Daniela and I was born and raised in Costa Rica. My native language is Spanish but I speak fluent English. When I was 16 I decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and study abroad. I applied to a movement of colleges called UWC and moved to Italy in August to finish high school and to the IB Diploma for two years. As of now, I am 19 years old and living in Washington State, in the United States. One of my primary motivations is the opportunity for cultural exchange. I deeply enjoy getting immersed in new cultures, languages, ways of living, and in this case, gain experience in a field that is a great interest of mine. I have always loved working with children and I believe becoming an AuPair and Nanny would be a great way to get out of my comfort zone and learn new things. This is a great chance to work closely with children and develop valuable skills in caregiving and working for a family. Living with a different family in a different country offers an incredible environment for learning, improving my language skills by being immersed in the daily life and communication of the host family. Creating long lasting relationships is very important for me, which is why I would love to have this opportunity.
Having lived in three different places already, I have had a lot of cultural exposure to three completely different environments that are beneficial for a house seeking an insightful person for their children. Having completed the IB Diploma was a great experience for my academic life and academic excellence, which is also a plus for families who prioritize educational values for their children. As part of my experience, I have selected teenagers from 15-17 years old to also be part of the UWC movement. Additionally, being fluent in both Spanish and English and speaking Italian in a B2 level is a valuable asset for families that are looking for language exposure for their children.
I am confident that my language skills, diverse background, and enthusiasm for childcare make me a well-qualified candidate for the AuPair position. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my unique perspective, love for learning, and genuine care to a new family, creating a mutually rewarding experience for both myself and the host family.
