Dear host family,

My name is Anya, and I am 22 years old. I am currently studying for a bachelor's degree in sociology and will soon graduate. I have an interest in cinema and photography, and I often volunteer.
I first learned about the Au Pair program while I was in school and have been eager to become involved ever since!

Why do I want to be an au pair? First and foremost, I truly love children. I have a younger brother, who is 8 years old, and I used to spend a lot of time looking after him before I went to Moscow to study. Therefore, I believe it would be very interesting for me to spend time with children as an Au Pair :) Secondly, I am eager to explore a new culture and live in a new place. I want to learn from other people's experiences and share mine with them. As I am about to graduate from university, before looking for a full-time job, I wish to gain valuable life experience and find my passions. It seems to me that this program would be perfect for that!

Why do I think I am suitable for this position? To begin with, I can describe myself as kind, sensitive, caring, and responsible person. I have experience working with children, as 1) I often looked after my brother and stayed alone with him, and 2) for the past few years, I have visited orphanages and helped organize various recreational activities for children there. Additionally, I truly enjoy cooking, so I would be happy to prepare meals for the entire family! But most importantly, I believe it would be a fun and interesting experience for the children and for me to spend time together. I could teach them how to take photos with a film camera. We could come up with a story for a movie and shoot it together using a video camera. We could learn to draw using tutorials on YouTube or create something out of clay together. Also, I guess it would be fun to read Harry Potter together or watch cute animation "Over the garden wall". I can also teach the children how to bake chocolate chip cookies and other delicious treats :) In general, I am eager to come up with creative and useful activities for the children in order to get to know them better and have an enjoyable time together!

Doświadczenie w opiece na dziećmi

I have two main reasons for wanting to apply for this program. First and foremost, i’m going to be honest, living in Europe is my dream come true. I don't have a lot of money and financial resources to travel as a tourist and therefore, it seems to me that this program is the most realistic option to realize my dream. I am eager to learn more about other cultures, languages, people, art, architecture and so much more! The chance to experience life in another country would be an incredible opportunity for my personal growth and development.

The second (and also the most significant) reason why I chose to apply for this program is because, in my opinion, I am well-suited to participate in it. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children, and I fully understand that caring for children is a huge responsibility. Therefore, I would not have applied for this position if I did not enjoy working with children and was not prepared for this responsibility. I have a younger brother who is 13 years younger than me, and I often helped take care of him before I moved to Moscow. That's why I fully comprehend that caring for and spending time with children is not an easy task. But I am well-prepared! Besides, I really enjoy looking out for children like my brother. When I come to my hometown, I still spend a lot of time with him. We often play active games, conduct experiments, read books together, walk and play ball. It's hard to describe how much I enjoy such a pastime with him :)

Additionally, although I do not have professional babysitting experience, over the last few years, I have frequently visited orphanages and assisted with organizing entertainment programs for the children there. Moreover, a couple of years ago, I was a volunteer mentor for a teenage girl with a disability who participated in a beauty contest. We got along very well then, and I helped her in many ways! Therefore, I believe that I have sufficient experience working with children to participate in the program. I also want to note that before going to a host family, I will take first aid courses as I believe it is an essential skill for someone who looks after the children.
