Hola familia!

My name is Luca! I'm 22 and just graduated university, now taking next year off before graduate school to try something new. Currently, I am an intern at a landscape architecture firm in New York. I have ample experience traveling and spent the spring semester of my 3rd year in university studying in Barcelona and living with a host family. I would love to go back to a Spanish-speaking country to help out your family and learn more about the world.

When I was younger, my family had an au pair from Poland. She lived with us for a year and would come back to help out throughout my childhood. Last year, after studying abroad in Barcelona, my mother and I visited her and her family. I got to pick the kids up from school, take a trip with them, and play with them in the playground near their apartment. Visiting her family at the same age that she was when she came to ours, I realized the beautiful connections that form. My au pair played a huge role in my upbringing and helped shape the person I am today, and I would love to be that person for another family.

During my stay in Barcelona, I stayed with a host family, practicing my Spanish and orienting myself within the family and the city's culture. I am mostly fluent in Spanish, and have been practicing on DuoLingo to maintain it. I love exploring new places and acquainting myself with an area.

I love to cook and help out in the kitchen, clean, and do other household tasks. I have a driver's license and have experience driving in Spain and other European countries. I have experience baby sitting in my hometown for two boys aged 10 and 3. While their parents were gone at dinner, I would have dinner with them, clean up, play outside and indoors, and help get them to bed. I also have experience taking care of my younger brother- though only 2 years younger, I would be responsible for cooking food and cleaning up and first-aid when necessary. I have also helped out with a children's summer camp, assisting during pick-up/drop-off time, activities, and snack/lunch time.

I am responsible, caring, funny, creative, adventurous, motivated, out-going, a foodie (I love to cook and eat!), and a nature-lover. I am an early riser and love a morning. I love to make the most of my days and stay busy, but also find time to relax and do the things that make me happy. I am silly and imaginative.
