Dear Host Family,

My name is Ferda, and I was born in 2001 in Turkey. I am currently in my third year of studying Child Development at Istanbul University, and I hold a degree in Sociology. I have always been passionate about working with children, which has led me to pursue various certifications in family counseling, play therapy, and child psychotherapy approaches and intervention techniques in my country.

What excites me most about the opportunity to be an au pair is the chance to combine my love for working with children with my desire to experience new cultures. I am eager to immerse myself in a new environment, not only to assist with childcare but also to gain new perspectives. I believe my academic background in sociology has given me a unique ability to observe different cultures from multiple angles, while my child development studies equip me with the necessary skills to engage with children in a meaningful and positive way.

In addition to my professional qualifications, I have a diverse range of interests. I have been deeply involved in the arts for six years, participating in theater, and I also create clay and ceramic art and design jewelry. Physical activity is another important aspect of my life. I have been playing tennis for 11 years and have competed in canoeing, where I achieved national rankings in Turkey.

Throughout my experiences, I have always connected well with children and young people. My educational background and personal interests have given me many opportunities to interact with them, and I’ve found that I have a natural ability to build rapport and understand their needs. I am also eager to improve my language skills and believe that being an au pair will provide the perfect opportunity to do so.
