Hello! My name is Katie, I'm a 19 year old female from England who is keen on travel and working with children. I am currently on my Gap year and will be going to university in September to study Philosophy.
A couple of years back I regularly babysat for my neighbours and family friends - which then led me onto working in a pre-school for just over a year. Whilst I was there I took part in and devised activities, games and crafts with the children. Their ages ranged from 3-14. This job was extremely rewarding as I could watch the children learn, grow and build bonds between one another, and with me. I believe these are all important skills for a successful Au Pair.
I stopped working at the pre-school at the beginning of my A-level studies, which I have now completed and since then have found a new job in hospitality working in a restaurant which has improved my people skills and built my confidence. I love my job, however I believe it is time for a change, hence applying to be an Au Pair. I am a responsible, funny and kind-hearted person; good characteristics, I believe, to have for an Au Pair position. I'd like to view myself as an older sister figure who can connect and care for your children.
