Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Carol-Ann, I am 32 years old, and I am excited to introduce myself as your potential Au Pair or Nanny.
I have been working as a pediatric nurse since 2010, gaining valuable experience in many areas of healthcare, including gastroenterology, NICU, cardiology, nephrology, neurology, surgery, maternity, and pediatric emergency care and many more. My work has always been driven by a deep love for children and a strong sense of responsibility.

During my previous stay in the United States, from February 2025 to April 2025, I worked as an Au Pair, caring for an 8-year-old child with cerebral palsy and her 11-year-old brother. This experience taught me a lot about patience, adaptability, and the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive environment for every child. Unfortunately, I had to end my stay early due to an accident my husband suffered at home. Thankfully, he is now on the road to recovery, and I am ready to pursue my dream again.

As a US citizen, I do not require a visa and am very flexible regarding my departure date. I have a clean background check.
My husband, who works for the State Department, fully supports my dream of working with a host family in the United States.
It has always been my wish to gain experience in the US and finally become fluent in English. Growing up, I did not have the chance to learn English as my father left us when I was a baby, and from then on, we only spoke German at home.

I also want to mention that I have a stutter—this is simply a part of who I am and has never stopped me from pursuing my dreams. I am a loving, confident, and reliable person, and I believe my stutter makes me even more empathetic and understanding.

My greatest hope is to become a real part of your family and to support you with all my heart and energy. I look forward to sharing my skills, warmth, and dedication with you and your children.

Warm regards,
Carol-Ann

Experience

As I mentioned above, I have already gained valuable experience working as an au pair. During my time in this role, I was responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
• Waking the children and assisting them
with getting dressed and their general
morning routine
• Preparing breakfast and lunchboxes for
school
• Driving the children to appointments
• Supervising playdates and
accompanying the children to them
• Supporting the children with their
homework
• Tidying up the children’s rooms and
doing their laundry
• Helping with general household
organization

There were several aspects that were particularly important to me in my work:
• Ensuring the children were always in a
safe and secure environment
