Hello!

My name is Grayson and I am an emerging artist from Charlotte, North Carolina. I recently completed my CELTA certification for teaching English as a foreign language and am looking for jobs in the field of teaching English and childcare. I am a native English speaker and speak pre-intermediate Spanish, though I am attending tutoring currently in Colonia Navarte, where I live.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Painting and Art History in 2022 and worked as an arts administrator for a gallery in New York. After graduating, I worked in the service industry in Richmond, VA, obtained my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher certificate, attended an art residency, and worked as a nanny.

I would like to become an Au Pair so that I can experience cultural immersion in another country, improve my Spanish skills, and positively contribute to the growth and care of children. I am interested in Mexico because of the thriving arts, vibrant culture, and opportunity to be immersed in the Spanish language. I am passionate about caring for and spending time with children and am constantly inspired by the creativity of children. I find that working with families is mutually rewarding and could offer me a means of income that is fulfilling whilst spending time in a foreign country.

In terms of my experience, I have been babysitting on and off for seven years and am currently a part time nanny for a family of five. I help the kids with homework, guide them through creative activities and crafts, play with them outside, and help them organize their spaces. I also do the family's laundry, make beds, organize communal spaces, vacuum, and maintain other daily cleaning tasks.

I have house sat for up to two weeks, walked dogs part time, and in high school I worked at HUGS camp as a full time caretaker for folks with disabilities. I am CPR and Wilderness First Responder certified. I have a vehicle and am a safe and cautious driver. Friends, family, peers, and employers describe me as hard-working, reliable, creative, and thorough.
