EXPERIENCE
I have many years of experience being a Nanny and a Nursery Teacher assistant.

Nanny July 2016-April 2019 -García family.
I had Sole charge of a 5 year-old boy (B).
•School pick ups.
•Preparing healthy meals.
•Light house work: tidying up after the 5 year old, assisting with dishes, folding laundry.
•Reading and practicing English vocabulary.
•(B) loved assisting in the kitchen, hence I would plan many activities through food and we would practice baking cookies, muffins and cakes.
•As (B) was very energetic we would constantly be practicing an array of different sports such as football, playing with frisbee, playing outdoors, riding bicycles.and jumping the rope.
•Learning about the world, by planning educational and fun activities: going to farms, trips to museums, parks, zoo trips, pottery classes.
•Assisting with keeping a consistent learning routine after school and during summer, continuing to develop reading skills independently, learning simple math like adding and subtracting using different resources such as blocks and cards.
•We formed a strong bond and really enjoyed learning and spending time together. The Garcias became like a second family.

Bretsa Nursery Agency - April 2019 to April 2020
•Employed as an agent who would cover for different nursing staff across London, whose age varied from 4 months to 5 or 6 years old. I have learned to be self-confident as I had to work with different nursery staff and was in a different nursery almost on a daily basis, which provided me with new skills. I was able to gain valuable experience in working under pressure and efficiently with different people and staff.
I was assigned to the baby room, the toddler room and the preschool.
•By working in different nurseries across London, I enhanced my understanding about children’s development and how to assist them with fun activities to help them improve their fine and gross motor skills, by doing activities like mud play, foam play, using dry and wet foods.
•Providing parents provided with feedback on how the children did during the day, which also helped me in assessing my job performance.

Nanny for the Latch family (from April 2020 to August 2021)
•Sole charge of a 2 year old girl and occasionally of her 7 year old sister.
Preparing healthy and varied meals, including breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
•Potty training.
•Preparing fun summer activities and playing in the garden. On sunny days we would do arts and crafts in the garden: painting rocks and leaves, crafting tiny houses with recycled materials. I also introduced her to various activities to develop her fine and gross motor skills e.g., learning how to use scissors and paint brushes, skipping and even sports like football.
•To further stimulate her intellectual learning and to expand her vocabulary I would prepare games using different coloured vegetables and toys, enabling her to learn the colours and names of the objects. She enjoyed learning through songs so I would use songs to teach her new things like counting and the days of the week.
As my native language is Spanish, I would teach her some easy short words and sentences and encourage her to memorize them for the following day. When she did I would give her one of her favourite sweets or fruits and she was eager to learn more. She was really excited to learn Spanish, which she would then repeat to her parents.
Assisting in the kitchen. Occasionally I would let her help me make jelly and bake.
I am still in touch with the Latch Family and occasionally assist with babysitting.

Nursery - Streatham Hub- April 2021
I was based in the Toddler room (ages 1 to 3). My team leader and I both had our own children assigned, conducted regular observations, maintained comprehensive early years records, and designed tailored activities to support child development and achieve developmental targets.
Keeping a record of the nappy changes of the day which we had to write in a chart in order to ensure their bowel movements were at normal levels.
Assisting parents with Potty training and reminding the children to use the restroom, giving stickers as incentive when they independently remembered to go.
As I had to serve meals and often prepare dinner (light sandwiches, salads, omelets, rice, and dessert) I attended a food safety course achieving a Level 2 food and hygiene certificate. I was aware of the appropriate manners when it came to dealing with food to avoid cross contamination.
Rhyme time and reading time. Singing songs: learning through nursery rhymes.
As our nursery was understaffed at times, I worked quite often in the Baby room, where my role consisted of ensuring the children’s safety from any potential hazard, assisting with nappy changing, feeding time, setting out interactive activities, rhyme time and singing nursery songs, and assisting with nap time.
Planning activities that would assist the children to develop fine and gross motor skills .
Nap time: keeping records of children’s sleeping routine as well as observing them whilst they sleep to ensure they are breathing.
Writing feedback for the parents about the portion of food the child had eaten, the activities planned on the day, sleeping time and how long they napped for, how many nappy changes they had during the day and any other important event.
Achieved Blended Pediatric First Aid certificate.
Safeguarding children of any hazards - able to identify potential hazards which could put the children in any danger.
Arranging trips to the park, leisure centers , farms and zoos keeping the children safe and at a visible distance.
Working with special needs children: children with learning difficulties, with autism and disabilities
