Letter to the family
Dear Host Family,
If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your children—not just watch over them, but support them, inspire them, and help them grow every day with love, patience, and joy—then I would be honored to be that person in your home.
I believe children deserve more than just supervision—they deserve someone who listens, encourages, and celebrates them for who they are. With me, your kids will have a caring and responsible big sister figure who will make them feel seen, safe, and loved. Whether it’s helping with homework, organizing creative games, playing sports outdoors, or simply talking through their day, I will be there with empathy, enthusiasm, and genuine affection.
My goal is to create a nurturing and positive environment where your children can thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually. I’m not just here to help with routines and tasks—I’m here to be present, to build trust, and to make each day meaningful. I want to be someone your children can count on, laugh with, and feel comfortable around, while also supporting the values and routines you’ve worked hard to establish as a family.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Natalia, I’m 22 years old, and I come from Bogotá, Colombia. I recently graduated with a degree in Business Administration and currently work as a Marketing Coordinator, where I get to apply my creativity and organization skills every day. Even though I enjoy my career, I’ve always had a strong passion for caring for children, and I feel a special connection when I’m around them. That passion is what led me to pursue the au pair program.
I’m a responsible, kind, and cheerful person who values honesty, communication, and consistency—especially when it comes to childcare. I’ve cared for children of different ages and personalities, and I’ve learned how important it is to meet each child where they are: to understand their needs, their emotions, and their unique way of seeing the world.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active through sports like volleyball, swimming, and soccer, which I would love to share with your kids if they’re interested! I also enjoy creative activities like drawing and playing the piano, and I find great joy in discovering new places, cultures, and traditions. I’d be excited to bring a little bit of my own culture into your home —perhaps by cooking a Colombian dish together or sharing some Spanish phrases in a fun way.
Family is the heart of everything in my culture. We value connection, warmth, and creating quality time with one another. Whether it’s sharing a meal, enjoying conversations after a long day, or simply being present, those little everyday moments are what bring us closer. I would be so happy to bring that same warmth and sense of family into your home, and to help build strong bonds with your children—not just as their caregiver, but as someone who truly cares about their happiness and development.
I also feel confident and safe behind the wheel. I completed a certified driving course, drive an automatic car regularly, and understand how important it is to drive carefully—especially with children in the car. You can count on me to be a cautious, responsible driver.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about me. I would love to speak with you and learn more about your family, your children, and what you're hoping for in an au pair. I truly hope to become a positive and loving addition to your home—and to help create memories that your children will carry with them for years to come.
With warm wishes,
Natalia
