My experience with younger children stems from growing up with younger siblings that I helped care for. From a young age, I had responsibilities that allowed me to develop essential childcare skills, including patience, empathy, and adaptability. These experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the joys and challenges of working with children. As well as that, my desire to immerse myself in different cultures has been a driving force behind my decision to to be an au pair abroad. Having previously lived in Spain for a year during my Erasmus exchange program at university, I developed a profound fascination for exploring diverse cultural landscapes and forging meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. I have previous Au pair experiene. I spent six months working as an au pair in Shenzhen ,China, caring for two lovely little girls, ages 7 and 9. During my time with them, we shared countless memorable experiences, from traveling together to exploring local attractions and enjoying fun-filled days out. I took them to their classes, helped with their homework, and even gave them ice skating lessons, all while fostering an English-speaking environment. We had so much fun together, and I loved watching them grow and learn. This experience not only deepened my understanding of childcare but also taught me a great deal about myself and my abilities, helping me develop greater patience, adaptability, and confidence in my skills. This combination of childcare experience and cultural curiosity fuels my excitement to embark on an au pair journey, where I can continue to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on the lives of both children and their families.
