Letter to the family

I'm currently earning my Master's in Sustainable Design & Social Impact, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communication Design & Spanish. I grew up in Chicago, USA and moved to Los Angeles, USA for university. Before moving to Barcelona, I worked professionally as a Graphic Designer in the Entertainment industry at Disney+, Nickelodeon & NBCUniversal as well as volunteered with the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, organizing events to raise funds for families unable to pay for lifesaving medical procedures. Bringing joy to families, and especially kids, has always been a core part of my values.

I relocated this past September, seeking a lifestyle change; I wanted to experience life in a society where people and community are prioritized over capitalism. At the moment, I have a student visa which will expire at the end of July. At that time, I'll have 90 days to secure more long-term arrangements – I'm hoping your family may be a way to continue cementing my life here in Spain post-grad. :)

Experience

I've been babysitting since I was 11 years old, and earned a certificate from Northwestern University's weekend intensive program. I've always wanted to be a teacher and really enjoy working with children! I worked at a day camp from the ages of 15 to 18, caring for 4- and 6-year olds 8hrs per day, plus an additional 2hrs as a bus counselor with campers up to age 12.

During college, I also volunteered in local classrooms in the heart of Los Angeles, offering bilingual support for 5th, 3rd, and 2nd graders across reading, math, science and social studies lessons. Last year, I mentored a high school senior as she navigated her final year and preparing for university.

Additionally, I have a younger brother (19yo); given our age difference, I was very present throughout his childhood and adolescence. Plus, my grandmother—who was a large part of our upbringing—was an elementary school teacher. She assured we understood the importance of a thorough education and obtained a high-level of comprehension across all subjects.

I love living in Spain (specifically Barcelona) and am eager to engage my passion for education while building a strong relationship with a local family and helping the children learn and grow. :)
