Letter to the family
** I am currently committed to a family for summer 2025. I am now looking for opportunities anywhere in the world for May - August 2026 and in Australia for May 2027!
Hi! My name is Narelle! I'm a 23 year old student from the Georgian Bay area in Ontario, Canada. I am looking for a summer position (May 1st-September 1st) 2026. I am a dual citizen of Canada and Australia, so I am able to work visa-free in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, though I would be open to exploring any country where I'm eligible for a visa! Note that I only speak English but am very open to taking language courses :)
Additionally, I am searching (very early!!) for an au pair or nanny position in Australia that would help me transition to living there long-term. Since I am still completing my degree, I am hoping to find a position that begins in May 2027.
I currently live in London, Ontario where I am completing a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at Western University. When I finish university, I plan on becoming an RD (registered dietitian). Before starting university, I went to culinary school. Cooking is one of my biggest passions in life and I love helping kids discover their tastebuds :) I'm president of a nutrition education club at Western that organizes field trips for high school students to learn about food and nutrition, and I also volunteer at a local organization called Growing Chefs that runs cooking classes for kids. I am very capable in the kitchen so providing meals and snacks for your kids will never be a problem!
I'm a big believer in avoiding screen time and spending lots of time in nature. I think it's really important for kids to spend lots of time playing and using their imagination. When I babysit I strive for little to no screen time - we do lots of hands-on activities, like baking, crafts, art, puzzles, reading books, etc. I like to engage in child-led play - routines are important but just sitting and playing without structure is too :) We spend as much of our day outside as we can! I also love for kids to be involved with their food preparation, to help expose them to new foods and become good eaters.
I am First Aid and CPR Level C trained, I have my full Ontario driver’s license, and I also have a Vulnerable Sector Check. I would be happy to provide you with references from families I have nannied and/or babysat for.
Looking forward to meeting your family soon!
