Letter to the family

Hi, my name is Laura, I’m 18 years old and from Germany. I just finished school and will be 19 by the time I start as an au pair. I’m a friendly, open-minded and warm-hearted person who enjoys spending time with children and being part of everyday family life. I also love animals and grew up with dogs and cats.
I want to become an au pair because I really enjoyed my exchange year in the USA and would love to experience another country and culture. For me, living with a family and supporting them in daily life feels like a great and meaningful way to do that.
I think I’d be a great fit for a host family because I’m responsible, easygoing and happy to help wherever needed – whether it’s playing with the kids, helping with homework, cooking meals or tidying up.
I have three years of babysitting experience and lots of time spent with my younger cousins, so I’m very comfortable around children. I also enjoy cooking, baking and trying new things. I’m excited to get to know your family and support you in the best way I can!

Experience

I haven’t worked as an official au pair yet, but I have about three years of experience babysitting regularly for several families. I also spent a lot of time with my younger cousins and have always enjoyed taking care of children, helping with homework, playing games, or just being part of their daily routine. I’m confident and responsible when it comes to looking after kids, and I really enjoy it.
I want to become an au pair abroad because I love discovering new cultures and being part of everyday life in another country. During my exchange year in the USA, I learned how meaningful and exciting it can be to live with a host family. Now I’d love to experience that again while doing something I really enjoy – supporting a family and spending time with children.
