Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello dear Au Pair / Nanny,

We are a family of five - mommy & daddy in their late 30s, 2.5 year old baby girl, half a year old baby boy and a small retriever dog. We speak both English & German at home.

We live in a beautiful modern apartment in Weißensee - a neighbourhood just north of the busy city centre, where city life can be enjoyed with the perks of a private garden and the only inner city lake for swimming. Public transport in all directions is easily accessible and grocery stores and restaurants are plentiful in walking distance.

We are looking for an au pair to join us from July 2025 to November/December 2025 or even longer to help with our kids and dog. Our little girl has a very rare genetic mutation which means she has learning delays and doesn't speak yet. She goes to Kindergarden but our baby boy will not be going to day care during 2025 yet. We are thinking that around 35 hrs a week of help should be good, leaving you time to study or explore. Tasks will include caring for both our kids, their things and our dog.

Job Description

We are looking for someone loving and fun to spend time with our kids and dog, whether this is outdoors at a playground, public pool or at home. Fun as well as educational play, moving and a healthy diet are very important to use. Our little girl and dog love to cuddle so you need to be ok with that :)

We are looking for an au pair or nanny to join us from March 2026 November/December 2026 (perhaps longer) to help with our kids and dog. Both our kids go to Kindergarten during the day. We are thinking around 35-40 hrs a week should be good, leaving you time to study or explore. We can structure the days and times you spend with the kids as you and us see fitting.

Besides public transport, we have a car that can be used to take the kids on excursions. A little Vespa and bicycle is also at your disposal to use when not with the kids.

Accommodation

We have a beautiful spare room which is on the top floor along with a separate bathroom and our office. The spare room and bathroom would serve as the au pairs. the main bedroom and kids room are downstairs. The middle floor has a kitchen, living and dining area.
