Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello all female au-pairs,

We are a German-Indian family and are looking for an au pair girl asap. Earliest for us would be September 2025. We are warm and loving family with two small kids, first our 7 years old school going daughter and second our 4 years old kindergarden son. I am a scientist and my husband is a doctor and due to our busy schedule we need help to take care of our kids and some household chores. We live in Braunschweig which is around 45 minutes drive from Hannover, capital city of Lower Saxony in Germany. There is a good Tram connection and also bus connection from nearby our home to the city center which is around 7 minutes of drive. Moreover, Au-pair can use our bikes (manual and electronic) to go around the city if she wishes. We are multi-cultural family and speak German, English, Hindi and Punjabi at home. Thus, always looking forward to learn more about the culture of the other countries.

The aupair contract in Germany means we will be paying for health insurance, travel expenses inside the city, pocket money (€280) and language school fees. Au pair will get 1.5 days off and she will be working 30 hours a week. She will get 4 weeks of holidays fro every 12 months of contract. We are looking for someone who can stay with us from 8 till 12 months, so that kids get a good chance to integrate.

Job Description

We are a vegetarian family + no eggs and would prefer the one who abides by this important rule in the house. Second it is important for us that au-pair should know to ride a bicycle.

As per the German law au pair will get 1.5 days off in a week and 6 hours of work. Au pair will be responsible for all activities related to kids - taking kids to hobby classes and bringing back. Playing with kids, taking them to plaground, making healthy meals for them, getting them ready for bed, arranging and organizing kids play area, making them sleep.

However, we are really a very flexible family and can make a nice schedule which suits to both of us. An au pair will be a part of our family and will be treated in the same way. So please dont worry about that. Our last two au pairs stayed with us for 10+ months till the time their visa ends and now they are good settled in Germany for their further studies. We still have good connection with our previous au-pair and thus references can be given if someone needs them. In the same way, if we need a reference, it should also not be a problem for an au pair.
