Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are looking for Au Pair number … stopped counting by now. Every Au Pair here turns into Charlotte’s big sister with movie nights, science-fair hacks, endless inside jokes. Those ties stay alive long after the contract ends, as our previous Au Pairs can tell you!

You’ll slip into that role fast. Evenings you eat with us, help steer homework chaos, then relax together. Weekends are lighter: if Charlotte’s friends invade, our mission is “kids fed, house un-burned“ and try to keep the house in order, so we can all relax a bit.

We speak clear-cut, accent-free German, love big tables full of friends from everywhere, and offer you a front-row seat to how a bilingual, tech-meets-pharma household works.

The only fixed duties are help keeping the house dog hair free (by attending to our helpful vacuum robots and helping them wherever they cannot go). Plus the first dog-walk on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Do it at dawn or after a night out—we don’t care, as long as Jessie the husky and June the wolf-dog puppy come back tired and empty.

If that sounds fun, pack your sneakers and let’s talk dates.

Job Description

Core job: be Charlotte’s sparring partner—escort her to climbing, swimming, self-defence; invent projects; keep screens in check; share your own passions.

Hours: max 30 per German Au-Pair law, mostly between ~17:00 - 20:00 on weekdays plus flexible blocks on weekends or during school vacation. Saturday & Sunday first dog-walk are non-negotiable but time-flexible. When Charlotte’s gang of fourth-graders takes over the house your role drops to occasionally checking in if they’re still alive and fed.

Skills we like: solid common sense, confidence around medium-large dogs, willingness to speak German (at least try), any hobby you can teach a curious 10-year-old. French is a bonus.

What you get: pocket money per official regulation, full board, paid health insurance, train ticket, aid to your language-course fee, one full free day each week, every evening free after duties. Trips, concerts and vacations—join if you want, skip if you don’t.
