We live in Chicago on the north side in a part of town called Lincoln Square. There are numerous restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. The elevated train station is about a half mile away and the trip to downtown Chicago takes about thirty minutes. There is a university approximately 1.5 miles away that is easily accessible by bus. Our building has two apartments. The upstairs apartment is occupied by my daughter and her fiancé. The downstairs apartment is occupied by my husband and I plus our two dogs. Our other daughter lives about a mile away with her husband and two children aged three and nine months.

I have Parkinson's Disease and neuropathy but I'm somewhat mobile and do not require assistance getting around the house or bathing. I just need someone to be in the house with me. The neuropathy causes near constant pain or discomfort in my feet and the Parkinson's impairs my cognitive capabilities.

We are not looking for an employee who works forty hours per week. Rather we seek someone who will become part of the family and be flexible with working hours. For example if you would like to take some time off to visit our nation's capital in Washington DC or perhaps Disneyworld in Florida we would be happy to accommodate your travel plans. The position comes with four weeks paid vacation.
