Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there,

We are a French family living in Ciutadella de Menorca, in the beautiful Balearic Islands, and we’re looking for a warm, motivated and responsible young woman to take care of our 5-year-old daughter during the month of July.

Our daughter speaks native french, Spanish and Menorquín

fluently, and is starting to learn English, so having a native English-speaking au pair would be a wonderful plus — but it’s not a strict requirement. What matters most to us is your genuine care, presence, and engagement with her.

We don’t do screens or TV. We believe in real connection, play, and quality time — going to the beach, exploring nature, creating, laughing, learning. Your role would be to truly take care of her in a kind, active, and attentive way.

You’ll have your own private room in our flat, in a lovely area. While I (the father) will be away, my wife will be at home — she works and needs someone reliable, committed, and trustworthy by her side.

This is not just a one-time need — we’re often looking for support throughout the year, especially when I’m abroad, so if things go well, there could be future opportunities to come back.

If you’re just looking for a place to stay or a holiday in the sun, this won’t be a good fit. But if you love children and want to spend a meaningful month sharing joy and connection, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

Our daughter will attend summer school from 9 AM to 2 PM, so you'll have spare time during those hours to rest or enjoy the area. However, from early afternoon onward, we expect full dedication and presence. Your role includes truly caring for our daughter without screens, encouraging play, creativity, and helping her improve her English through interaction. We also need someone who can cook simple, healthy meals, as my ex-wife works full-time — sometimes into the evening — as a real estate agent. A driver’s license is a plus, but not essential, as the beach is accessible by push bike. Above all, we ask for someone who is reliable, kind, and respectful of our family’s values and routines.
