Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a family of four and are looking forward to welcoming you in our home!
We have two children, one boy who is 6 years old and one girl who is 3 years old. The kids both speak German with their mother and Hungarian with their father and his family, therefore it would be ideal for us to find an au pair from Hungary so that they can improve their Hungarian language skills. In return, we will be happy to help you to learn German and get to know the German culture. We would be also happy to invite an au pair from a different cultural background to stay with us. We both speak English as well as fairly good French and very basic Spanish.
We live in the small town of Haan which is close to the city of Duesseldorf and also connected by public transportation to Cologne. You would be staying in a separate apartment on the top floor of our house with your own bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.
Our son goes to school and our daughter attends a local daycare facility, 5 min walking distance from our house until around 3 in the afternoon. After that, you would pick them up and either take them to a sports club or other activities or play and spend time with them until we get off work and sometimes also watch them in the evening when we are out. Besides the childcare, we would also like you to help with some smaller chores around the house.
We have never hosted an au pair before but we are very much looking forward to it and to getting to know you!

Accommodation

We live in a 3 story house: On the ground floor, there are the kitchen, living room and dining room. On the first floor, there are our bedroom, bathroom, the children's bedroom, our office and a guest bedroom. On the top floor, there is a separate apartment which we rented out until this summer and where your space will be: You will have your own bedroom, one additional room, your own kitchen and bathroom. There is another large room in the apartment which we would like to use probably as additional office space.
The house is surrounded by a garden with a small terrace and a play area for the kids. During summer, we enjoy spending time outside.
