Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au-Pair,

we are family of young professionals ( 39 and 41 years old) with two boys. The older one is 8 years old and the little one is just over 3 years old. Although we both work we still find time to travel and spend time with family and friends.

We are looking for a caring person to help us with the boys and around the house as part of the family.

We live in Cologne, which is one of the most international cities in Germany. Our house is very big with 5 bedrooms ,4 bathrooms, a large open space living/kitchen area on the first floor and a big garden. It is in the southern part of Cologne and you can bike or take the bus into the city centre, so it is easy to get around and explore.
The school and the kindergarten which our boys attend are just a 15 minite walk away from where live so this is great!


We are quite used to having an au-pair at home (we have had 3 so far) so we will help with the application process, visas, insurance etc.!

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include
- bringing the boys to school / kindergarten and picking them up. We do it ourselves on some days. The boys are usually not at home from about 8:00 till 15:00.
- Making breaksfast for the boys and sometimes dinner and cleaning up afterwards
- Making sure their toys are organised and their rooms are tidy
- When they are home - sports, reading, board games, going to the playgroud and other fun activities
- light household-chores (for example loading the dishwasher and doing laudry)
- occasionally babysit in the evening and at the weekeds

During the day, you will have enough time to go to language classes, do sports, meet friends or relax at home.

Ideally you speak English OR German.
