Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My name is Kyle, and I’m a devoted father to two wonderful boys—one school-aged and one toddler. I share custody with their mother, so the boys are with me part of the week. We live in a family home on Maui where my parents or siblings occasionally stay, but it’s mostly just the three of us.

We’re looking for a caring and responsible au pair to help with the kids and become part of our daily life. A bus stop is a short walk from the house, and if you have a valid driver’s license, you may have access to a vehicle. The city center is about 20–30 minutes away, and there are local language schools and community programs nearby if you’d like to study or explore.

Job Description

We’re looking for an au pair who can support our family with daily routines and help create a calm, engaging environment for the boys. Primary responsibilities include helping with light household cleaning, preparing breakfast and dinner, and assisting with getting the boys to and from school or activities. After school, we’d love your help keeping them active and entertained—whether through outdoor play, creative time, or structured routines—especially while I’m still working. Flexibility, initiative, and a genuine love for children are important. You’ll have plenty of free time when the boys are in school, and weekends are generally off unless otherwise discussed in advance. Additionally I only have the boys 50% of the week.
