Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a family of 4. Myself, my partner, my 3.5 year old daughter, and our now 1.5 yr old son. We live on the outskirts of London in a wooded area with a very fast train into central London. At the moment I work full time mostly from home and my partner is setting up a new business and she is working from home every day. We are looking for someone to help us as a family with looking after our little ones. Our daughter is at preschool monday-wednesday from 9:15am-3pm and my son is at preschool tuesday-Thursday for half a day. We have one au pair already that covers most of the childcare during the day when the kids are not at school, and we're now looking for an extra pair of hands to help out for 1 hr in the mornings, make their lunches, help with a bit of housework and do a few hours on Sunday afternoon. I think it's about 15 hours we'd need, so that leaves time for someone that might want to study or just not do so many hours.

We're a loving caring family and we want the best for our little ones like any parents. Our families are unfortunately quite far away so aren't able to offer much support on a regular basis. We both work from home the majority of the week so we're available to call on if needed. We've had 2 aupairs now and we're on to our third. It really has been a fantastic experience and we're definitely glad to have started the journey a few years ago now. We look forward to welcoming you.

Job Description

In terms of pocket money we're open to negotiation for the right person, if you have amazing experience we'll happily go up the scale.

We have an aupair currently that takes care of the little ones when they're home from preschool but we need an extra pair of hands to work for 1 hour in the mornings from 8am-9:00am before our daughter goes to preschool, though this might not be necessary some days. The role really needs someone that can step in when one of us is sick (mainly the primary aupair) and when everything is fine to be able to help our for a few hours on the weekends (preferably sunday afternoon) to allow me to get some work done on the house/garden.

We try to split the house work between us but some help on that front would be hugely appreciated. If the person joining has any cooking talent Jemima would also hugely appreciate a hand in that department as well.

I think with the hours in the morning and on the weekends, a bit of housework and making lunches equates to 15-20hrs per week.

If this suits you then please get in touch.

Accommodation

We have a 4 bedroom house across from some ancient woodland on the outskirts of London. We are very lucky to have just had a very fast train introduced to central London which gets you there in less than 20 minutes. The train is a short walk down the hill. The woods that surround us are part of an SSSI and they have some really interesting areas to explore including a fossil pit and a ruined Abbey with some lovely gardens and a cafeteria.

The house itself is fairly usual. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. We have 2 spare rooms, one of which we're planning to setup for our au pair. Its not ensuite but the bathroom is directly opposite the room we're planning to use. We do have an infra red sauna in the other spare room which I'm currently kitting out to be a mini gym.
