Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

**We are looking for someone immediately to provide summer holiday cover for around four-to-six weeks. If you are already in the UK, please do send us a message. If you are from a country that requires a visa to enter the UK, please do not message. Thank you**

We are a family of 4. Myself, my partner, my 4.5 year old daughter, and our now 2.5 yr old son. We live on the outskirts of London in a wooded area with a very fast train into central London. At the moment I work full time mostly from home and my partner is setting up a new business and she is working from home every day. We are looking for someone to help us as a family with looking after our little ones. Our daughter is at preschool Monday-Wednesday from 9:15am-3pm but will be starting school in September, and my son is at preschool Tuesday-Thursday mornings only. This will likely increase in September. Our lovely current au pair is leaving us in middle/end of July as she will have been with us for six months (the most her visa allows) and so we are looking for somebody to replace her. It will just be when the school summer holidays start so for the first few weeks, it would be basically full time with both children - playing, going out, doing activities etc. Then the structure starts in September when it will be mostly mornings before school and the afternoons.
We're a loving caring family and we want the best for our little ones like any parents. Our families are unfortunately quite far away so aren't able to offer much support on a regular basis. We both work from home the majority of the week so we're available to call on if needed. We've had three aupairs now and we're for our fourth. We've been very lucky and have built such lovely relationships with all of them that we now have options for other countries to visit for our holidays! It really has been a fantastic experience and we're definitely glad to have started the journey a few years ago now. We look forward to welcoming you.

Job Description

In terms of pocket money we're open to negotiation for the right person, if you have amazing experience we'll happily go up the scale.

Our current au pair takes care of the little ones in the morning and when they're home from preschool. She puts Conall down for his nap at midday and then takes them to the playground or the woods after preschool. She is great at getting them outside. We appreciate somebody being proactive and organising activities like arts and crafts or days out - we have all the information you would need to do this. Our au pair gives them dinner and finishes when Jemima stops working at 5:30pm. She also takes them to regular activities like forest school and gymnastics.

We try to split the house work between us but some help on that front would be hugely appreciated - mainly clearing up after the children and helping fold their clothes/put them away. If the person joining has any cooking talent Jemima would also hugely appreciate a hand in that department as well.

It would normally be about 35 hours per week.

Accommodation

We have a five-bedroom house across from some ancient woodland on the outskirts of London. We are very lucky to have just had a very fast train introduced to central London which gets you there in less than 20 minutes. The train is a short walk down the hill. The woods that surround us are part of an SSSI and they have some really interesting areas to explore including a fossil pit and a ruined Abbey with some lovely gardens and a cafeteria.

The house itself is fairly usual. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. We have 2 spare rooms, one of which we're planning to setup for our au pair. Its not ensuite but the bathroom is directly opposite the room we're planning to use. We do have an infra red sauna in the other spare room which I'm currently kitting out to be a mini gym.
