Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to our family!

Hello! We are a warm and active family of three living in Colonia Nápoles, Mexico City, near the World Trade Center (WTC). We have a small friendly dog and enjoy spending time together at the park, going to theater shows, or dining out at the many restaurants nearby. Our home is centrally located with easy access to public transportation, metro, and bus lines.

We are seeking an au pair, nanny, or nanny-au pair who is a native German or native English speaker—or at least fluent in one of these languages—so our child, who attends a Swiss school and is learning German, can practice in a natural, everyday environment, and at the same time continue strengthening his English skills. We speak English and Spanish at home comfortably, so it is not a problem if Spanish is not your strongest language at first (although learning Spanish would be a plus!).

They offer personalized Spanish courses for foreigners—both online and in-person—from basic to advanced levels. There are also options in the Condesa neighborhood, such as International House or L&C Spanish School, easily reachable by transit.

Job Description

Schedule & Responsibilities:
• School runs: drop‑off and pick‑up from our son’s school (≈ 10–15 minutes by car or bike)
• Meals: prepare light snacks or meals as needed
• After‑school care: supervise and accompany him to extracurricular classes or play
• Timing: from approximately 7 am to 8 am and from 1 pm to 5–6 pm, Monday to Friday (until we get home from work)
• Flexible availability: preferable if you can attend language school (morning or evening classes)
• Driver required: ideally, you know how to drive (car and bicycle parking available)
• Family outings: occasionally join us when we go out together

We are looking for someone reliable, caring, and with experience working with young children. Your German will be a great asset, and Spanish/English is what we speak at home, so communication is no problem.

You will live in a separate, private room with its own bathroom, located in the patio of our apartment. This means you have your own space and independence—it’s not shared with the rest of the house.
Of course, you will have access to wifi and internet, and the apartment feels safe, modern, and child‑friendly. Colonia Nápoles is cosmopolitan, with many events, parks, cafes, theaters, and cultural venues within walking distance.
