Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

I am a single dad seeking a live-in au pair. We live on Long Island. My son (almost 7) and daughter (3 years) are half American and half Chinese. My son is a very sweet and affectionate boy who likes to go to the park and play with cars and robots. He enjoys building things and sometimes watching his favorite shows on TV. The girl is a very sweet and active toddler.

I hope to have someone who can act like a big sister to the two children, not just an "employee." If you can cook and help keep things tidy around the house, that would be wonderful. It's great if you can speak a language other than English -- such as Mandarin Chinese or French, but other languages considered also. It's not a deal breaker if English is your only language or if your main language is German, Dutch, or something else!

Job Description

I am flexible but want help taking care of the boy and girl -- the boy will be in camp/school a lot, however -- and keeping the apartment in order. Getting my son ready for school, preparing simple meals, doing bedtime routine, bathtime routine, giving a bath, playing with the children, and so forth. We will work out a specific schedule. You will definitely have specific times to yourself.
