Greetings,

We are a culturally diverse family living in Okinawa, Japan. I am an American father currently in a co-parenting arrangement with my ex. Our children, whose ages range from 3 to 8 years old, are with me part of the week, and I’m seeking assistance during those times to help manage daily routines and activities.

Our home is located about 25km from Naha, the main city of Okinawa, and just a 2-minute walk from the nearest bus stop. We’re also fortunate to live near the beach and within walking distance of several shops, restaurants, and supermarkets.

As a family, we enjoy an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, going to the beach, cycling, or exploring the natural beauty of Okinawa, we’re always looking for ways to stay engaged and connected with nature.

Job Description

Regarding the responsibilities for our Au Pair or Nanny, I anticipate a commitment of up to 30 hours weekly. My boys spend their weekdays in school, typically from 9 am to 6 pm, which affords you as an Au Pair or Nanny ample opportunity to explore and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and activities of Okinawa. Sundays, local holidays, and school breaks are usually our busiest time, as all the children are home during these periods.

I seek assistance primarily during the mornings to prepare our children for school and in the evenings to help them settle down for bedtime. Additional support might include tasks such as dishwashing, occasional grocery shopping, and engaging our bilingual children in reading practices in both English and Japanese to enhance their language skills.
