Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to our family!

We are so excited at the thought of you joining us on this journey. Opening our home to you means more than just help with our daily routine — it means welcoming a new member into our family, someone who will become a special part of our children’s lives and our story.

Our household is full of love, laughter, and a little chaos (the good kind!). Each day is a new adventure, and we are looking forward to sharing those moments with you — from morning giggles and school drop-offs to bedtime stories and weekend outings. Your role in our home will be meaningful, and we value the energy, care, and cultural richness you’ll bring with you.

We understand that this is a big step, leaving your home and loved ones behind to live in a new country. Please know that we are committed to making you feel safe, respected, and supported throughout your time with us. We want this to be a wonderful experience for you, full of opportunities to grow, explore, and create lasting memories.

Our children are already curious about you and excited to learn about your culture, language, and traditions. In return, we’re eager to show you our way of life, share meals, and celebrate your milestones just like we do our own.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering becoming part of our family. We can’t wait to meet you and begin this amazing journey together.

With warmth and appreciation,

Sharlita & the Family

Job Description

We’re looking for someone warm, dependable, and fun to help care for our children — especially our younger and elementary-aged ones — during the times when I’m unable to do school or daycare drop-offs and pick-ups. Support with after-school activities, getting them to and from extracurriculars, and helping with morning and bedtime routines would be incredibly appreciated.

We also ask for light help around the house — simple things like preparing easy meals or snacks, tidying up after the kids, and helping keep their routines flowing smoothly. While most of the children are in school during the day (elementary, middle, and high school), our two youngest attend daycare full-time, Monday through Friday.

There will be days when daycare or school is closed — and on those days, I would need help with full-day care.

I work in the healthcare field and also attend school myself, so my days are full and I’m in need of reliable, loving support. I have three neurodivergent children, all of whom are highly functioning, bright, and full of personality. They may need extra patience and understanding at times, but they are independent in many ways and bring so much joy and energy into our home.

What I’m really looking for is someone dependable and responsible — someone who will not only keep my children safe but also care for them with genuine kindness and compassion when I’m not there.

If you’re someone who enjoys being part of a busy, loving household and wants to make a real difference in a family’s day-to-day life, we would be so happy to welcome you into our home.

From time to time, our middle schooler and high schooler may also need a little help — whether it’s a ride somewhere, a reminder about homework, or just an extra set of hands and eyes during the after-school hustle.

I always try my best to prep things in advance, but on busier days, I’ll typically order food (and of course, that includes you too!).

We’re truly looking forward to welcoming someone into our home who feels like part of the family. If you enjoy a mix of active days and relaxed ones, and want to be part of a loving, lively household — we’d love to meet you!
