Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello future au pair!
My name is Katarina Glavočević and I live in a small town called Sandviken in Sweden. I am currently on maternity leave and would as soon as possible want to find an au pair that can join our everyday life.

We are a family of six members, me, my husband Erik and our four sons Adrijan 7y, Rafael 5y, Lorens 2y and Franjo only 2 months. My husband and I work as doctors. In our free time we like to do sports like cross country skiing, running and orienteering. We love to do different building and gardening projects on our small "farm". And of course we love to spend time with family and friends.

Sandviken is a small town but still with a rich range of culture and sporting activities. It is close to the bigger city called Gävle. We live in the outskirts of Sandviken in a big house with a big garden, stable and a big meadow where we have sheep grazing the grass in summer and all year around we keep 7 hens, 1 rooster and 3 cats :) So our home has a typical Swedish rural feeling to it. We have a very nice neighbourhood with many villas. The area is called Östanbyn if you wish to "visit" the area on Google maps ;)
There is also a separate big guesthouse where the au pair would have her room. A place where she can have some privacy from the otherwise hectic life with children ;) The guesthouse has fully furnished kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry and bedroom. Everything necessary to be independent.

We would like to welcome an au pair to our family who can speak croatian/bosnian/serbian and that we feel "clicks" with the family. Our goal would be to make the au pair feel at home with us and be treated as a natural family member.

My parents are from Bosnia, close to Fojnica, but I am born in Sweden. So my native language is Swedish and my husband is swedish. I do speak croatian/bosnian (naši jezik) but only limited. I would love to teach my children the language but it is difficult when only I teach them. Hence I would like our au pair to speak the language so they have someone who can practice the language with them on a daily basis.
Other than the language exchange the au pair would help us take care of the three oldest children as much as she would like. For example picking up from daycare/school with bike, car or walking (ca 1,5 km distance), entertaining the kids while we cook, clean etc.

Up until August 2026 my husband or I will be on parental leave and during that time one of us is always at home so the au pair does not need to take care of the children alone.
If the relationship with the au pair feel good we would also like to travel with her as a family.

I hope that you have gotten a vivid picture of what it would be like to join as an au pair at our home.
Since I don't wish to pay for Premium Membership at this website in vain, I please ask you not to contact me with the standard messages provided by the website unless you have real interest in us, and only if you speak native/fluent croatian/bosnian/serbian.
We prefer someone within the EU so a visa is not required. This currently takes about 4 months to process by the swedish migration office. But if you are a serious candidate we could consider going through the visa process.

Thank you so much for respecting this. Hvala najljepša.

Kind regards,
Katarina Glavočević
