Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! We’re the Turner family - Lydia, Tom and Fraida - and we are so excited to welcome an au pair into our home for 12 months or maybe longer. We are a loving, close-knit family of three (soon to be four!) who live life with warmth, laughter, and plenty of energy.

We have a bright and curious 3-year-old daughter who brings laughter and energy into our lives every single day. She loves imaginative play, books, crafts, and going to the park—and she’s very excited about becoming a big sister soon, as we’re expecting a baby boy in the near future!

Job Description

We are seeking a kind, reliable, and patient au pair who will become part of our family. Your main responsibility will be caring for our 3-year-old daughter. This could include:
• Taking her to playgroup or organized activities
• Playing with her, reading stories, and doing fun educational games
• Spending time outside—she loves the park!
• Helping with her daily routine, especially in the afternoons while I (Lydia) prepare dinner
• Speaking to our daughter in your native language as often as possible!

Once the baby arrives, most of my focus will shift to caring for the newborn, so your time with our daughter will be especially valuable
We believe in treating our au pair with kindness and generosity—we want you to feel truly at home. You’ll have your own large private room with an en suite bathroom to give you comfort and space when you need it. We’re also happy to pay for you to attend language classes if you would like to improve your English or pursue learning opportunities during your stay. We will also contribute to travel and flight costs for you and ensure you are picked up and dropped off personally from the airport.

You’ll be included in our family life and be invited to join us on family holidays and outings—we want to share experiences with you and help you explore the UK (and beyond, when travel abroad!).
