Dear Future Au Pair,

Hej och varmt välkommen! We’re the Jansson family—Holly, Nic, Freya (3), Ebba (6 months when you arrive), and our gentle Golden Retriever, Norman. We live in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, a small New England town 15 minutes from Amherst and Northampton, where five colleges keep the area lively and full of people your age.

Who we are
Nic: Marketing consultant and founder of a Swedish candy company. Works from our converted barn office and speaks Swedish fluently.

Holly: CEO of a leading non‑alcoholic beverage brand, runs a marketing agency, and co‑owns MYSA Natural Wine with Nic. Also works from home.

Freya: Bright, curious, and always moving—dance and gymnastics are her favorites. We’d love your help deepening her Swedish beyond the songs and books we already share.

Ebba: A calm, happy baby who’s content to watch the world go by (for now!).

Norman: Ten‑year‑old retired therapy dog; calm, friendly, and great with children.

Your role
Schedule:

Monday – kids at daycare (your free day).

Tuesday–Friday – help with daytime care, preschool pick‑ups, and fun afternoon activities.

Weekends – occasional support for family outings or date nights.

Travel: We visit Cape Cod, Lake Winnipesaukee (NH), Dallas, and NYC regularly. If you enjoy travel, we’d love you to join—extra hands make trips smoother for everyone.

Language focus: Speak Swedish with the girls as much as possible—especially playtime with Freya and daily routines with both kids.

Home & living
Private bedroom on the same floor as the family.

Shared upstairs bathroom + a second bathroom with tub downstairs.

Finished barn workspace with gym equipment that you’re free to use.

Car available for classes at the local colleges, meeting friends, or exploring Western Mass.

How we live
Mostly screen‑free for the kids.

Montessori‑style toys, lots of outdoor time—skiing, swimming, hiking.

We value honesty, direct communication, and treating one another with respect. If you ever have a question or concern, please tell us; we’ll always do the same.

What we’re looking for
Someone who will care for Freya and Ebba with warmth, energy, and the same attention you’d give your own family. Swedish fluency is a must; teaching the girls your language and culture is a big part of why we’re excited to welcome you.
