Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a happy, loving, fun and busy family. During the week, we are in Cupertino, CA, in the heart of Silicon Valley, close to great restaurants and schools. During the weekends, we often go to our house in Woodside, about 30 minutes from Cupertino, in the mountains, full of redwood trees, scenic views, amazing wildlife and just minutes away from beautiful hiking trails. We treat our au pairs like family members as well as professionals. Our au pair will have comfortable living quarters, good food, exposure to different ethnic cuisines (Californian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Thai, etc.), and acquire good childcare, cooking, cleaning, and English skills. We provide mentorship, career guidance and we promote cultural exchange, including exchange of customs, music, art, dance, holiday traditions and foods. Lastly, we show our au pair our favorite local spots (hiking spots, beach spots, etc.) take our au pair to explore the
Bay Area, and take her to go on vacation with us.

Job Description

Work involves: childcare, cooking, cleaning and driving kids. Act as a good role model to the children (proper language, positive instructions, etc.) Extensive and detailed training in childcare, cooking and cleaning will be provided.

Requirements: likes children, hard working and strong work ethic, must be able to follow instructions, fluent in English or Mandarin, non-smoker, reliable. Good Driver. Excellent references. Minimum 12 month commitment. Must have relevant childcare experience. Preference will be given to those with prior full-time preschool, nanny and/or au pair experience. Prior experience with relative's children would not be considered. We only work with certain au pair agencies.

You will get your own private bedroom. You will be treated like a family member as well as a professional care provider. You may borrow our car once you have obtained a California driver’s license and have demonstrated that you are a safe and good driver.

Application requirements: provide years of teaching, paid nanny or childcare experience and days and times for initial phone interview.
