Dear future au pair! We are a young German/American couple and our first child, Hunter, was born in March 2021. We live in the wine region of Germany where we run our family winery. We like to travel and just live an easygoing and stress free life.

The region we live in is also called the Tuscany of Germany. With rolling hills of wineyards. The weather is the best in Germany, with warm summers and mild winters. Theres lots to do outdoors in the area like hiking to castles, strolling through fields surrounded by wineyards, bicycle rides, etc.

The closest city center that has all the things to offer like gyms, libraries, parks, language classes, cafés, etc. is about 10 min by bus or car away. We live in the village right next to it and the bus station is 5 min to walk from our house.

You would mainly be there to assist Mama. I am a stay at home mother, who likes to do a lot of projects. I would like to have some time so that I can do some sewing / cooking projects, and spend some time on my fashion design interests. We have a few activities with other families and groups throughout the week, and it would help a lot if I had some assistance with Hunter. My husband makes and sells wine, but the hours are not too crazy most of the year and differ from day to day.

We will provide meals, and you can have your own fridge with your own groceries. You will have a yearly ticket to get around with public transportation. However, there is an extra car when needed. We are pretty open, so just ask us and if we can make it happen we will.

Your tasks will probably be the following: playing with Hunter in the morning after he woke up and at different times throughout the day, helping out with preparing lunch or/and dinner, doing Hunters laundry, etc. Every day might look different. And since we are new to hosting an Au pair, even though I was an Au pair myself for 13 months in 2009, we will need to figure out the best way to do things so everybody involved is happy.

We have been renovating our family winery. There are two houses on the property. One is done, and the other one that we are currently living in is being renovated. Currently, we live upstairs and the bottom floor where you would stay has its own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. There is more than enough space for you. And while things are being renovated you can live in the other house if you really want to as well.
