Here’s our ideal scenario (but we can negotiate):
Act as Mother’s Helper for stay-at-home mom.
10 hours a week at $15/hr (minimum of 3 days a week but you could divide up the hours however you like)
Help 3 year old girl and/or 5 year old boy with “homework”. When homework help isn’t needed, Mother’s Helper can choose from a list of various chores that Mom could use help with such as chopping veggies for the night’s planned dinner, wiping down the bathroom, vacuuming, prepping a craft for a following day, etc.
Your own bedroom with queen bed is provided. Bathroom is shared with the kids (and any visitors who may need to use the toilet).
We have a second full-sized fridge (with freezer) which is mostly empty so you could store your own food in there (meals not provided unless family is dining out and you come with).
Your airfare and hotel room covered when we travel (both sets of grandparents are in Orange County, California so we usually make a few trips down there) or you could have the option to have the week off from childcare and stay at home caring for our pets.

We live close to Lake Tahoe, California! (But on the Nevada Side)
Being in South Reno we are only 24 minutes away from Mt. Rose ski resort and 15 minutes away from the Reno-Tahoe Airport— which is an international airport! There are several shopping malls in the area (indoor and outdoor options) and many various conventions are held year round due to the number of hotels and casinos in the city. There’s plentiful hiking in our area (Reno/Tahoe is a destination spot for many events).

Some local colleges include: Unitek College Reno Campus (offers various nursing and healthcare degrees), Lake Tahoe Community College, and of course the University of Nevada, Reno (with division 1 football!). There’s also the Milan Institute of Cosmetology (two locations are within a 15 minute drive).

If you are social and/or physically active this is the place to be because there is much to see and do.

We only need 10 hours a week so an au pair from another country doesn’t make financial sense (with the $10K agency fee and minimum of $195/week that would come out to about $40/hr [at 10 hours a week] and that’s before the estimated food costs [an online calculator estimated it at $579 a month for our area, so it would be more like $55/hr which just doesn’t work for us).
Nevertheless, we’re keeping our account active just incase someone might be interested in the Mother’s Helper job.
