Lettera di Benvenuto per l'Au Pair

Hello dear Au Pair!

We are a very international and open-minded family based in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, China. We have three lovely children, all American citizens. Both parents have studied abroad in the UK, the US, and Canada, and we travel to many countries. We are not a traditional Chinese family — our mindset and lifestyle are much more Western-oriented, diverse, and welcoming.

At home, we already have three helpers: two care for the children, and one is an excellent cook. So you don’t need to worry about housework — your main role is to communicate only in English with the kids, play and read with them, and support their English language development in daily life.

We live in two apartments in the same community:
• One with five bedrooms where the children, their mother, and the helpers live,
• The other where the father works, rests, and where the children also play.

With plenty of space, delicious food, and a very supportive family atmosphere, you will feel comfortable and at home with us.

We look forward to welcoming you as a big brother or sister to our children, and sharing a true cultural exchange together!

Our Expectations for the Au Pair

We hope you can create a full English-speaking environment for our children. When spending time with them, please use English only, so that they can grow up naturally surrounded by the language.

Most of the household work is already taken care of by our helpers, but when they are busy, we may need your support with childcare. In particular, our eldest child, who is now 2 years old, is at a key stage for language development. In the afternoons, you may sometimes spend extra time with him — for example, reading, plag, or taking him outdoors to the playground or park.

Your main role is not housework, but to be a companion, a role model, and a language guide for our children, especially for our eldest child during his important early learning years.
