Flexiblity is key! As you can probably imagine, everyday life with toddlers can get chaotic :-) Also, we will be grooving ourselves back into a "two-parent-work" routine and will be changing countries while you are staying with us. We promise that life with us will not be boring - in return we expect an open mind, flexibility and spontaneity.
Depending on the week and day, you will be supporting on one or more of those activities:
- Getting the kids ready for day care (getting dressed, prepping and having breakfast, brushing teeth)
- Taking kids to day care
- Picking up kids from day care between 2pm and 3pm
- Afternoon program (playground, playing, singing classes, baby swimming)
- Prepping and having dinner
- Putting kids to bed
- Passive babysitting (sleeping kids) while parents are out
We are a very organized couple and family, so we will always strive to plan ahead and coordinate plans and schedules with our Au-pair. We believe that proper planning makes life easier for everyone

Your primary role will be centered around caring for our two young daughters, engaging in various activities that we all enjoy, as detailed earlier. This includes ensuring their well-being, fostering a fun and educational environment, and accompanying them in their daily routines.

In addition to childcare, we anticipate your contribution to maintaining a smooth household flow. While we have additional dedicated support for household tasks, we expect our Au-Pair to assist with light chores. These tasks include hanging up laundry, keeping the kitchen tidy, especially after meals, managing the dishwasher by filling and emptying it, and organizing the children's toys after playtime.

Flexibility is a key aspect of our family life, particularly now as we navigate the joys and challenges of raising toddlers, relocating to a new city, and embarking on new professional endeavors. Our weekly schedules are dynamic and evolving, so we value adaptability and the ability to adjust to changing routines.

Being a native English speaker is a significant plus for us. At a minimum, fluency in English is essential, as you will be communicating in English with our children. This is important for their language development and ensuring clear, effective communication within our family

A significant part of our daily life involves using an electric cargo bike, which is our preferred mode of transportation for outings with the kids, like taking them to daycare. It's important that you have ample experience with bicycling and feel confident maneuvering the cargo bike in an urban setting.

Having an international driver's license and driving experience would be an advantageous addition to your skill set, although it's not a strict requirement.

In addition to all qualities and experiences, it's essential for candidates to hold an EU passport. This is a specific regulation for Au-Pairs in Kanton Zurich, Switzerland, where we will be relocated. We can only consider applicants who meet this criterion due to the legal and administrative requirements in this region. It's important for us to adhere to these regulations to ensure a smooth and lawful employment process.
