Hi there! My name is Lauren Brooke , I am 18 years old and I am looking to gain some life experience by doing the two things I love. Travelling and caring for kids! I am someone who is very big on family and also being able to do as much as possible. I am always busy whether that is work or sports or school. I graduated high school with 90s and in my future I am wanting to become a paediatrician. Knowing how much schooling this will be I want to be able to gain more knowledge caring for kids while getting to live in a different country. I have a brother who is 8 years younger than me as well as an older sister who is 21. Growing up my dad was not able to care for my brother much which meant that I had to. Him and I get along very well and I get told he looks up to me a lot. We spent our time playing outside in the yard, playing board games, baking and so many other fun activities. I believe that I am the perfect person for the job because I am young and I am able to relate to kids but still am responsible and have the knowledge to watch them and take care of them. I also have around 30 hours of volunteer time where I put together a day camp for kids ages 4-11 due to teachers in my province going on strike. During these hours I would have 50 kids in my care and had arranged for three younger girls to be my helpers. We had games, crafts and snack times al organized by myself. I also used to have three families that I babysit for whenever they needed on a regular basis until the kids had grown out of needing to be watched. I have the qualifications for this job from the life experience. I have raised my brother and also put on the day camps for kids as well as my babysitting experience. I have my first aid training incase of emergency, I am able to drive and have never had a ticket or been in an accident. I do not drink or smoke. I am not allergic to any animals and I love to be around them. I am a very good cook with experience cooking dishes from all different cultures and I am not picky. I have a very outgoing personality and I am able to make friends quickly and I feel I would easily adapt to the culture abroad. I participate in Unified Basketball at my school which is a program that allows the disabled children at my high school an opportunity to participate in sports. I am able to care for people with all kinds of needs which is also part of the reason I would like to go into the field of working with children.
