I'm a recent college graduate working in Linz, Austria as an English teaching assistant through Fulbright Austria. After the end of this school year, I will stay in Vienna for the summer months and apply for my master's degree in June.
I would describe myself as open-minded, caring, fun, motivated, and hard working. Language learning and teaching have become passions of mine through my German studies and teaching, and I've fallen in love with the culture and lifestyle here.
During my bachelor's studies at Gettysburg College, I taught 4 German classes. I created lesson plans and taught for 50 minutes, once a week. My students described me as professional and helpful. I graduated summa cum laude as the valedictorian of both of my majors, Art History and German. Since September 2022, I have been working as a "native speaker" and doing private tutoring sessions with my students at the PHDL and younger students who have been referred to me. I have helped several students pass their English classes at the PHDL by tutoring them in pronunciation, writing, speech production, and general language proficiency. My younger private students typically need help with grammar concepts.
I have years of experience working as a baby sitter, nanny, and house manager with children from 18 months to 16 years old. I enjoy spending time with kids because I love watching and participating in learning, curiosity, and play. Being around children nurtures my own inner child :). Other families I have worked for have also enjoyed my cooking, baking, and cleaning/organization talents in addition to helping with the children.
