Dear host family, my name is Meredith . I am 19 years old and am from New Orleans, Louisiana. I would love to help out your family and share my American culture while learning about yours! I have lots of experience with child care and think I would be a great addition to your family. In the past few years, I have had lots of experience with children. During my senior year of high school, I slowly started to take on babysitting and have continued ever since then. Also, throughout high school, I was an apprentice for the dancing school I attended where I was helping mentor younger girls during their dance class. I’ve babysat for families with both boys and girls ages 3- 13. I love playing games with the kids, being outside, going on walks, and taking them to go do different activities. In high school, I volunteered at the Louisiana Children’s Museum on the weekends. This was such an amazing experience because I was able to play with kids of all ages and interact with each of them around the museum. I currently work at Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana 5 days a week. I am an after-care worker for kids ages 2-6. At this job, our role is to interact and play with the kids until they are picked up from after- care. I genuinely look forward to going to work every day because it is such a delight to be around them and play with them. I have formed so many special bonds with the kids since I am with them every day after school. It is so rewarding to see them get excited when I arrive at work. I try to make their after- care experience as fun as possible because I never know what type of day they had at school. I never feel like I am at “work” because I genuinely enjoy being around the kids and playing with them.
