Brief an die Gastfamilie

Dear Host Family,
Hi! My name is Ania, and I’m so excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair in Australia and hopefully become part of your family. If you think of a bright, outgoing, and adventurous person who truly enjoys connecting with people, embracing new cultures, and living life with passion and purpose – that’s me!
My love for travel and exploring new places began early when my parents started telling me all their stories from youth, when they left everything and went on an adventurous road trip around southeastern USA. Hearing all the stories opened a very important part of my heart which is exploring, travelling, trying new things, staying opened and saying yes to everything.
I’ve always craved that feeling of stepping into something unfamiliar and learning from it. It made me more open-minded, adaptable, and eager to understand how others live, think, and raise their families. Becoming an Au Pair feels like the perfect way to combine that love for culture and human connection with something that means a lot to me: caring for children.
I’m a natural extrovert who thrives around people, especially kids. I love laughing, being goofy, and creating joyful moments, whether it’s dancing around the living room, making up silly stories, or splashing around in the pool. I adore water and outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, or just exploring nature. I believe in soaking up every bit of life, saying yes to adventure, learning something new every day, and making meaningful memories wherever I go.
But what truly makes me happiest is spending time with children. I genuinely love their honesty, their spontaneous hugs, their bright smiles, and the way they see the world in full color—pure, curious, and full of wonder. Being around kids inspires me to stay playful and present, and I cherish the opportunity to be part of their growth, helping them feel safe, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.
Why do I want to become an Au Pair? Because it combines everything I love—caring for children, being immersed in a new culture, and building deep, real connections with people. It’s more than just a job for me; it’s a chance to make a difference, to be a big sister, mentor, and friend, while creating unforgettable memories together. I truly want to live my life to the fullest with no regrets and I deeply believe, that being your Au pair will make it happen.
I think you should host me because I’m not only fun, energetic, and outgoing, I’m also reliable, hardworking, and deeply responsible. I take childcare seriously and always show up with care and intention. I’ll bring structure when it’s needed, playfulness when it’s time to relax, and warmth always.

I’ve also had several meaningful experiences working with kids:
• I’ve been a Scout Leader Assistant for over 3 years, planning outdoor activities, scout gatherings, teaching young girl scouts hands on knowledge as first aid, history, connecting with people and gaining responsibility and confidence. That role taught me leadership, responsibility, and how to keep things safe and fun.

• For 2 years, I worked as an English tutor for children, helping them with grammar, conversation, reading, and confidence-building. I loved seeing them building confidence with English use, progress and building trust through teaching.

• I also volunteered for a year at my local primary school, where I supported both learning and play - helping with schoolwork during class hours and joining in games and activities during breaks. It was such a fulfilling experience and confirmed my love for being in an environment where kids feel seen and supported.
I’m so looking forward to the possibility of being part of your family, bringing positive energy into your home, and supporting your children as they grow and thrive. I truly hope to share laughs, stories, and experiences that we’ll all remember for years to come.
Warmest regards,
Anna .

Betreuungserfahrungen

Although I have not officially worked as an Au Pair yet, I have spent the past few years fully involved in childcare and youth mentorship in roles that closely mirror the heart of being a nanny or Au Pair. Most significantly, I have been a Scout Leader Assistant for over three years, and this experience has shaped me deeply—both as a person and as a caregiver.
As a Scout Leader Assistant, I worked closely with children of various ages, leading weekly gatherings, outdoor activities, and educational sessions. I taught children valuable life skills like first aid, basic survival techniques, and respect for nature. I also focused on developing their confidence, sense of responsibility, teamwork, and bravery through hands-on learning and positive challenges.
In addition to practical knowledge, I taught them about history, patriotism, and the importance of caring for others. We had meaningful discussions and reflections that helped the children develop both emotional awareness and personal values. In many ways, I was not just an activity leader, I became a mentor, someone they could trust, laugh with, and look up to.
Beyond the weekly gatherings, I was heavily involved in organizing two full-week scout camps. These required months of planning—coordination, safety procedures, activity schedules, meal coordination, team management, and communication with parents. It was time-consuming and challenging but incredibly fulfilling. At camp, I helped guide the kids through new experiences, supported them through homesickness or nerves, and created a space where they could grow and enjoy themselves safely and confidently.
I also have two years of experience as an English tutor, working one-on-one with children to improve their language skills in a fun, supportive environment. Additionally, I volunteered for one year at a local primary school, helping during class time, engaging with the children through play, and learning support during breaks.
All these experiences have made it clear to me that working with children is something I love and feel naturally connected to.
I want to become an Au Pair abroad because it allows me to combine this passion for childcare with my deep love for travel and cultural exchange. Living with a host family in a new country is not about seeing a new place, it is about sharing real-life experiences, creating bonds, and stepping into another way of life with openness, kindness, and responsibility. I believe being an Au Pair is more than a job—it is a chance to grow together, to give and receive, and to create memories that last a lifetime.
I approach this opportunity with energy, a strong work ethic, and a true passion for helping children feel seen, supported, and happy. I am fun and full of life, but also reliable, responsible, and hard-working. You can count on me to show up with care, respect, and enthusiasm every single day.
