Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share my experience being an Au Pair. When I was was trying to apply on this website, I found a Host Family instantly. They sent me a message and we kept talking until I moved here to Norway. I came here in Norway last December, so I have been here for one year already.

Being an Au Pair, you live with your Host Family and Host Kids. My Host Family was made up of a single dad and his 8 year old son Alex. When I arrived, they picked me up from the airport. I realised straight away that the host kid was very sweet. My host family is very kind and they always support me. The host dad is like my father and I feel like I am in my own family. He trusts me completely: he always travels for work, so he alwaysleaves me with my host kid at home. I treat Alex like my brother, my son, my friend. I live in this house with freedom and happiness.

I can say that I feel like I’m living in my own house with my own family. My host kid wanted me to live here forever: he can't sleep without a kiss and a hug from me. We play together, I help him with his homework. And now my journey as an Au Pair is finishing . How supportive were they when I was getting married! They came and joined my big day. My host kid was crying and saying that now that I was married I was going to leave him. I think that he doesn’t want to lose me because I have always treated him well and he was happy when spending time with me. I can assure you that through the Au Pair program, you will have a good family who will welcome you. To the people who like and wish to be an Au Pair: always remember to treat your Host Family well and they will treat you well in return.

This December I will finish my journey as an Au Pair: I have found a husband and will be with him from now on. I always tell my host kid and family to keep in touch and that everytime they need me I will be there.
