Letter to the family
Dear family,
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
I am Dorleta (19 years old) and come from Madrid, Spain. This past academic year I have been based in Milan, Italy where I have coursed my first year of my Fashion Business degree in Istituto Marangoni. I have been living there as an AuPair with an italian family that I love dearly. This October I must move to Paris to be able to do my last two years of my degree in the Paris Marangoni. The year before living in Milan, I spent it learning chinese in Taipei, Taiwan as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, where I had the opportunity to live in 3 different host families and get to know amazing international people as well as a new culture. I am an extremely hardworking, motivated, positive, and highly adaptable person. I really love languages, art and fashion, which is why I am pursuing a career in the fashion field.
AuPair World is actually very dear to my heart because from the age of 9 to 15 my family actually had a Scottish Au Pair at home who to this day remains like an older sister to me and will always be part of the family. As the oldest out of four girls in my family whom I love so much, came my love for children, and over the past years I have been working as an English tutor and babysitter for families in my area in Madrid. Apart from my family, being around kids is actually one of the things I missed the most during my year in Taiwan, and my current experience in Milan has been amazing! I am currently an AuPair in a family with two kids (Alessandro, 9 and Valentina, 11) who now truly feel like my siblings and Iove them very much.
I am a very open-minded person who firmly believes international experiences are of great importance and ever since I’m little I have gone on exchanges to families in France where I learnt French. These experiences shaped who I am now and also made me love discovering new cultures, languages and different family dynamics!
I love my French, Italian and Taiwanese families so much and I know being an Au Pair in paris during my time in university there is perfect for me!
Coming from a big family, helping each other and collaborating at home has always been present in my life. I am very prepared to handle important responsibilities with kids at home and my experience in families abroad has given me a deep understanding and respect for the different rules each house has! I am ready to be a positive and uplifting addition to your home!
I am really excited to learn more about you and your family and I couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to hear back from you!
Kind regards,
Dorleta
