Experience
I am zeynep. I am 25 years old and I graduated from Istanbul. I studied English preparation at university for a year. I graduated from the preparatory school, which I started with an A1, with a B2, and my department was 30% English and the rest was Turkish and my english level is B2. I am a young psychologist who has just graduated. My motivation behind choosing the psychology department was to be good and help someone when I was only 18 years old. I was happy with someone's happiness, and the more I produced, the more useful I felt. That's why I took part in many volunteer work and internships while studying at university. As I learned something and gained knowledge, I had a desire to see and do different things. I wanted to see Clinical Psychology, the most well-known subfield of psychology, in the field. I started as an intern at Öykü Psychological Counseling Center in the summer of my first year at university. Here, my professors taught case formulations while respecting client confidentiality. I learned what the child psychologists at the clinic do in play therapy and their analysis of children's pictures. In our second year of university, the pandemic broke out and we were confined to our homes. This was very difficult for me. Because I was eager to work somewhere and learn something, then I saw a project of UNICEF Turkish National Committee. Face to Face Project, I applied and was accepted. With my teammates, who are close in age, we created a resource fund for disadvantaged countries, families and children through the UNICEF portal, on the streets and in the fields, with iPads in our hands. We were working 35 hours a week and we told people on the streets that in some countries there are people who cannot access water or health kits, about early marriage of girls in our own country, and about the projects that Unicef has created to prevent and help these situations. In my 3rd year, I did an internship in the field of Human Resources at the General Directorate of textile store Çetinkaya, where I experienced the recruitment processes and what the institution does to increase the productivity of its employees. In addition, I was working side jobs while studying. One of them was that I was working as an educational consultant in a language course, and I had responsibilities such as the registration process of the students, the language level they wanted to reach, and if the registered students had any problems, they would solve them and forward their grades and exams to the parents. In addition, I taught certain age groups at a children's and a hope association on weekends. Such as philosophical reading workshops, creative drama workshops and hand skills workshops.
