Letter to the family

Excited and Ready to Join Your Family!
I am thrilled to share that I have my visa appointment This means I am fully prepared and eager to begin my au pair journey, bringing warmth, care, and enthusiasm to your home very soon. I look forward to the opportunity to become a loving part of your family and to share wonderful cultural experiences together!

Dear Wonderful Family,

If you're reading this, tha you already. It means the world to me that you're opening your home—and your hearts—to someone from across the globe. My name is Jaharana, I’m 19, and I come from a little corner of Kerala, India, where the days are filled with family, food, and lots of noisy kids!

I’m not writing this to just say I “like children”—you probably hear that in every letter. I’m writing to say: I understand them. I know the joy in their sudden laughter, the silence in their sleepy eyes, and the magic in their endless questions. I've grown up surrounded by little ones—my two young nephews are practically my tiny best friends. With them, I’ve learned how to turn spoons into spaceships, stories into sleep, and boring afternoons into dance shows.

I didn’t grow up with much, but I grew up with everything that truly matters—love, patience, sharing, and the idea that taking care of someone is one of the most meaningful things we can do in life. That’s what draws me to your home—not just the travel or the experience, but the chance to be a kind and stable presence in your children's everyday world.

I don’t smoke, I don’t drive (yet!), but I do sing loudly, laugh easily, and try my best—always. I can promise you this: your children will be safe, seen, and heard when they’re with me. I’ll learn your routines, support your parenting style, and bring light, stories, and care into your home.

My hobbies? I love music (I sing when I cook!), I read books like they’re friends, I dance badly but with joy, and I love learning new things. That’s why I’ve started learning German—it’s exciting to imagine speaking with you and your children in your own language someday soon!

Being your au pair isn’t just a job for me. It’s a dream, a responsibility, and a way to grow into the kind of person I want to be: brave, kind, and full of curiosity about the world.

So if you’re looking for someone who will love your children like a big sister, treat your home with respect, and bring warmth, creativity, and genuine care—I'm already on my way, heart first.

With excitement and sunshine,
Jaharana

Experience

Although I haven’t officially worked as an au pair yet, my life has been full of real, hands-on childcare experience. Growing up in a multigenerational household in India, I naturally became the go-to person for my nephews and younger cousins. I wasn’t just their babysitter—I was their storyteller, snack-maker, homework helper, and partner-in-crime during pretend games. I’ve calmed tantrums, organized birthday surprises, sung lullabies, and even been “the monster” in many epic living room adventures!

What draws me to become an au pair abroad is not just my love for children—it’s the chance to live inside another culture, not as a tourist, but as a family member. I’m curious to see how everyday life looks in a different country: the breakfast routines, the playground laughter, the quiet moments before bedtime. I want to grow by stepping out of my comfort zone, learning a new language, and building real bonds with people I might never have met otherwise.

To me, being an au pair is not just about helping a family—it’s about becoming part of one. That’s what excites me most.
