Letter to the family

To my future host family,

Dear Family,

My name is Catherine, I’m 54 years old, French, and currently living in France. I was born in May, under the sign of Gemini, ruled by Mercury, with a life path number 7, symbols of curiosity, adaptability, and deep personal growth.

I mention this because I believe knowing someone's essence helps create meaningful, harmonious connections. I hope to join a family whose values and rhythm of life align with mine.

Over the years, I’ve led a diverse and fulfilling life, working in accounting, international logistics, and even motorcycle mechanics.

I’ve lived and worked in France, the UK, and Belgium, and taken time to focus on personal growth through health, creativity, and spiritual studies.

Most recently, I supported my daughter (a single mother) and helped care for my granddaughter while my daughter returned to nursing school. This meaningful experience reminded me of the importance of intergenerational support and inspired me to continue offering that kind of presence to other families.

I wish to become a Granny Au Pair because it reflects both a desire to give and a desire to grow. I am currently in a major life transition, my new career path must be aligned deeply with who I am.

This journey requires time, focus, and emotional stability. Joining a welcoming family abroad would give me the supportive environment I need to evolve, while offering my experience, maturity, and calm presence in return.

You might ask, "Why host me?"

Because I bring with me a genuine sense of care, the emotional steadiness of life experience, and the ability to support your household with discretion, kindness, and adaptability. I believe in listening first, adjusting to your way of life, and offering reliable companionship, especially to children in their early years.

Why do I qualify for this position?

I am fully present in my offering. I understand the responsibilities, I value trust, and I am deeply committed to creating harmony in the space I share with others. I speak fluent French and English, I cook, organize, and contribute joyfully to everyday life.

Now, at this moment in my life, I feel ready to take flight, like a stork guided by the seasons and the need for renewal. This journey is for me a beautiful chance to open myself to life, to others, and to a more authentic version of myself.

Thank you for considering my application. I hope to have the chance to speak with you soon and learn more about your family.

Warmest regards,
Catherine

Experience

Within my own family, I have always had a natural bond with children. Outside of the family, this would be my first Granny au pair experience. I offer a calm, gentle presence, always respectful of the values and parenting style of the family I join.

I know with certainty that the first seven years of a child’s life are essential to their development. These years lay the foundation for self-esteem, emotional safety and trust in the world. Modern life doesn’t always allow us to honor this foundational stage, which is why I’m committed to offering a stable, gentle, nurturing presence, attuned to the child’s emotional needs. It's also about joy and mutual growth.

A typical day was: to be responsible for her morning routine, school drop-offs and pick-ups, after-school care, meal preparation, homework supervision, and evening activities.

We also shared many joyful and creative moments through recreational activities such as drawing, painting, beading, small crafts, dancing, bike rides in the neighborhood, relaxing by the sea, and hiking in the mountains. These experiences helped her grow with confidence and joy.

Altogether, this role amounted to over 900 hours of hands-on childcare, which taught me how to create a warm, structured, and emotionally secure environment for a child.

This experience was both a family duty and a deeply human journey. It opened my heart to the importance of intergenerational support and planted the seed of a new idea, offering the same presence, care, and attentiveness to another familly, abroad this time.

Becoming a Granny Au Pair abroad is a natural continuation of this path. It gives me the opportunity to be useful, to share my life experience, and to build strong, meaningful relationships across cultures and generations.
