Letter to the family

My name is Lissy, I’m 22 years old, originally from Germany, and have been living in the UK for over 11 years. This September, I’ll be starting my MSc in Neuroscience at King’s College London. As I begin this new chapter, I’m looking for a kind and welcoming family to live with and support part-time — whether through gentle childcare, tutoring, or helping with day-to-day life.

I have a strong academic background in the sciences, and soon pursuing postgraduate study in Neuroscience. I love learning and sharing knowledge, and I’ve worked with children in both academic and church-based settings — helping with schoolwork, creating structured activities, and supporting their emotional and spiritual growth. These experiences have deepened my passion for nurturing young minds in a calm, caring, and encouraging way.

My Christian faith is at the heart of who I am. It influences how I treat others — with honesty, gentleness, and patience. I’m especially understanding towards children who are more sensitive, shy, or anxious, as through personal experiences I know how important it is to feel safe, seen, and supported. I try to bring warmth and emotional awareness into everything I do, whether it’s listening, playing, helping with homework, or just being a steady, reassuring presence.

I also love animals, enjoy creative expression (like drawing and music), and I’m happy to adapt to your family’s rhythms and routines. I’m trustworthy, respectful of boundaries, and value open communication in the home.

If you’re looking for someone with a calm, nurturing presence and a genuine care for your children’s wellbeing, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you so much for considering me — I hope to find a family where we can support each other during this season of life.

Experience

My experience working with children has been shaped by both academic and faith-based settings. I’ve tutored children in science and general subjects, helped them build confidence in their abilities, and supported them in navigating emotional challenges. I’ve also led activities in church settings, where I encouraged creative expression, storytelling, and a nurturing sense of community. These experiences taught me how important patience, consistency, and kindness are when caring for children.

I’m about to begin my MSc in Neuroscience at King’s College London, and I’m looking for a live-in position where I can support a family while continuing my studies. I would love to combine my passion for learning, child development, and gentle care by working in a role that allows me to contribute meaningfully to a child’s growth and daily life.

My motivation to become a live-in nanny and tutor is that I find purpose in creating a peaceful, safe, and uplifting home environment where children can thrive emotionally, academically, and creatively. With my Christian values, I aim to bring warmth, structure, and understanding into the family home.
